Chinese turbine OEM Goldwind has named David Sale as the new chief executive of its Chicago-based North American unit, following the recent departure of David Halligan.
Sale, who joins Goldwind Americas from rival turbine supplier Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, has experience guiding “a number of companies and business units through critical transformation periods”, Goldwind said in a statement.
Sale takes the reins at an important juncture for Goldwind Americas, as the company looks to raise its profile in the US and begin poaching major clients from the market’s dominant suppliers – GE, Vestas and Siemens Gamesa.
