Deepwater Wind expects to submit permit applications in 2019 for the proposed 120MW Skipjack wind project off the coast of Maryland, where it will invest $200m during the construction phase.
Plans call for locating the facility in federally-owned waters more than 19.5 miles (31.4km) northeast of Ocean City, a seaside resort. It will provide electric power for about 35,000 homes in the state.
