Renewable energy investments in the Philippines “outperformed its Southeast Asian peers”, with the country ranking high on a risk profile index produced by global consultancy BMI Research.
The country ranked in 28 position (out of 117) in BMI’s Global Renewables Risk/Reward Index and 9th (out of 21) in the Asia regional rankings.
“It continues to be a regional outperformer for renewable energy investment, but is still characterised by elevated country risks and project implementation hurdles that will stymie growth,” BMI said.
