Missouri regulators have approved Ameren Corp.’s petition to construct a 100-mile (160km) segment of its 345kV Mark Twain transmission line through the state, which will enable consumers there and in Illinois access to low-cost wind energy from Iowa.
The 480-mile project suffered from years of legal and regulatory delays in Missouri, whose central location makes it the most direct pathway between those points.
