President Donald Trump’s administration announced Monday it is moving to repeal the Clean Power Plan (CPP), his predecessor’s 2015 landmark policy to reduce carbon pollution from US fossil-fuel electric power plants.
Scott Pruitt, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, later said that the federal government’s “war on coal” is over, arguing that EPA had exceeded its legal authority in trying to impose emission limits and seized the regulatory role of states.
