A consortium of Hydro-Quebec, Gaz Metro and Boralex have submitted a proposal to supply hydropower and 300MW of wind capacity from Quebec in response to a clean energy tender by electricity distributors across the border in Massachusetts.
State law requires them to procure 9.45GWh of clean power annually – equivalent to at least several gigawatts of installed onshore wind, solar and/or hydro capacity – through a competitive solicitation process.
