Pattern Energy, among the largest owners of US wind capacity, is not considering investing in offshore wind projects along the US East Coast, and does not yet view the technology as competitive against onshore renewables.
“It’s not an area that we’re interested in currently,” Mike Garland, chief executive of both yieldco Pattern Energy and its parent Pattern Development, told investors in a recent conference call.
