The 420kV substations at Lyse and Fjotland, being built under a $30m agreement, are also expected to play a key role in connecting the Norwegian grid to networks in the UK and Germany as part of the Western Corridor project to upgrade transmission infrastructure in the region as a cornerstone of the Northern European power system.
