Japanese utility Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) has connected its first wind farm to the grid with the completion of an 18.37MW project southwest of Tokyo. It did not reveal which company supplied the 1.67MW turbines for the installation in Kawazu, on the Izu peninsula in Shizuoka prefecture. The project will annually generate enough electricity to supply 10,000 homes, according to an online statement.
