The device, a 12-tonne ‘socket’ into which as many as four wave energy converters (WECs) can be plugged for testing, is travelling out onboard the Nordica installation vessel, which will at the same time lay the 25 kilometre-long cable that will link Wave Hub to its grid-connected onshore substation.
