The heavy-duty hydraulic pump at the heart of Carnegie Wave Energy's innovative Ceto wave-power concept is en route from its manufacturing facility in France to the company's coastal testing base at Fremantle, Western Australia. After final checks, it will be bolted into a maiden commercial-scale demonstration unit.

The float-out later this month of Carnegie's flagship device — an anchored underwater buoy-driven system — will mark the start of Australia's first grid-connected full-scale wave-energy project.
