The project — an array of ORPC’s TidGen and OcGen systems flowing power on to the Kenai region’s grid — could be running at top capacity by 2017, ORPC tells Recharge. The company recently secured a permit from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to study the East Foreland waters in Cook Inlet to determine the potential of the area. At full production, the pilot project could supply 2,300 homes.
