Washington state follows Oregon in signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) meant to ease what has been a rough regulatory road for the nascent hydrokinetic industry.
The agreement, announced Thursday, calls for state and federal regulators to notify each other of new applications; co-ordinate environmental reviews; and, set schedules to consider applications as quickly as possible.
