The £70m development will be based around seven of MCT’s 1.2MW twin-rotor SeaGen devices, which will be piled in across an area of 0.56 square kilometres. Production from the tidal farm is expected meet the electricity needs of 10,000 homes on the island.
The array of SeaGens will be situated between the Skerries islands and Carmel Head, about 1km offshore the Anglesey coast.
