The Langlee E2 is a machine moored to the seabed to generate electricity using hinged ‘water wings’ flexed by waves.

Each module has two pairs of 'wings', located one-half wavelength apart, which move in opposite directions as waves pass through.

The unit is seen as well-suited to ‘moderate’ wave environments with a 2-6 metre swell and depths of 50-150 metres.

It can operate independently, or be hooked up in offshore wind farm transmission infrastructure to boost power output.
