The deal will kick-off with the contractor delivering 11,000 metres of 20 kilovolt cable for use in Emec’s tidal and wave energy test sites in Orkney, Scotland.
The cables will be used to extend the centre’s near-shore test sites to create three new grid-connected berths, two for tidal-energy devices and another for wave-power machines.
Draka will also provide a range of accessories and direct load out to a vessel from its fabrication facility in Drammen, Norway.
