The Brazilian senate is evaluating a proposal to increase the potential of dams classified as small hydroelectric plants (PCH). Projects generating above 30MW, the current maximum, would receive incentives like not having to pay for the use of transmission and distribution and not having to pay cities for the use of water resources.
Senator Marconi Perillo (PSDB-GO) is the author of the proposal and he believes that dams should receive favourable incentives when communities might benefit and the cost of energy would be less.
However,
