The Spokane, Washington-based utility and the northern Idaho tribe agreed to support the issuance of a single 50-year license from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the hydro projects, which includes the Post Falls dam in Idaho and four dams in Spokane County.
FERC, which reviews proposals to license hydropower projects, is an independent agency that regulates the interstate transmission of electricity, natural gas and oil.
