Alstom, along with engineering companies CESBE and Areva Koblitz, has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to equip a 373MW hydro plant to be built in the Brazilian Amazon.
The contract was signed with developer Consorcio Amapa Energia for the Santo Antonio do Jari facility, which is due to be commissioned in 2014.
Alstom’s share of the €310m order represents €100m for the French power equipment giant, which will supply Kaplan turbines and generators, digital control systems, and provide supervision and commissioning for the three units at the plant.
Alstom has also been awarded a €80m contract by Odebrecht Perú Ingeniería y Construccíon to provide equipment for the 450MW Chaglla plant in Huánuco, Peru.
This
