Mexico will triple its wind capacity to 15GW by 2024 while investments should top $14bn in the same period, said Mexican wind power association AMDEE in an upbeat forecast that contrasts with the uncertainty gripping the country's power industry.

“We have a long-term commitment with Mexico ... we hope to build bridges [and] we support the government’s plan to improve the livelihood of all in the country,” said AMDEE’s president Leopoldo Rodríguez, during a press conference in Mexico City.
