German and UK utilities Innogy and SSE have stopped talks on a merger of their British retail business ongoing since November 2017, after not being able to agree on direct and indirect financial contributions for the planned joint operation.
The failure of the transaction comes as both companies sought different avenues to focus on renewable energy generation – Innogy through a transaction with parent RWE and rival E.ON,
