Capital Dynamics, the Switzerland-based private asset manager, has entered into a partnership with US developer Tenaska to invest in a 2GW portfolio of utility-scale solar projects across the Midwest, as the competition between wind and solar spreads to new US geographies.

The deal, few details of which were provided, builds on CapDyn’s huge acquisition spree in the global renewables market of late, including its buyout earlier this year of solar yieldco 8point3 Energy Partners, previously controlled by rival American PV groups First Solar and SunPower.
