The Colombian city of Medellin is deciding whether to allow its public utilities group EPM to sell a stake in its 110MW Los Coruros wind farm – located in Chile – to get its 2.4GW Ituango hydro-dam project back on track after an accident in May.

The plan, proposed by Medellin mayor Federico Zuluaga and EPM’s executives and under debate by the city’s council, aims to raise 7tn Colombian pesos ($2.2bn)
