Egypt has the potential to generate up to 53% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, according to a new report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena).
Irena’s Renewable Energy Outlook: Egypt Report, released at a high-level conference in Cairo, finds that pursuing higher shares of renewables could also reduce the country’s energy bill by up to $900m annually in 2030.
