Tech giant Apple and insurer Swiss Re are among a group of corporate power users pooling their resources to spur the development of 290MW of wind and solar in the US.
The pair, along with cloud computing specialist Akami and online marketplace Etsy, have collectively signed up to buy power from a 125MW wind farm near Chicago and a 165MW PV project in Virginia.
