Funding will back a range of activity, including pre-industrial technical feasibility studies focusing on early stage concepts, plus collaborative R&D projects on “pioneering ideas” in transport, the built environment, materials and IT that could be transferred into energy.

A further £1m will also be made available from the TSB, Cardiff and the EPSRC for up to 12 projects through themed “knowledge transfer partnerships” that will aim to help industry through collaborations involving young graduates, universities, and business.
