Omaha, Nebraska, based Tenaska announced a signed memorandum of understanding with Fluor for a 12-month joint engineering work phase. The resulting preliminary design and cost estimates will help guide Tenaska’s decision, likely in 2010, to proceed to construction. Tenaska puts a $3.5bn price tag on the project currently.
If it proceeds, the company says it intends to sign a contract with Fluor for EPC.
