The technology, from the Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), could be useful for coal-fired power plants and other emitters facing a cap on carbon dioxide emissions as the US looks to set policies to fight global warming.
“Power plants could easily retrofit to use our process as a direct replacement for existing technology,” states lead research scientist David Heldebrant.
