Japanese thin-film PV manufacturer Solar Frontier had an eventful 2015, with cumulative global shipments passing 3GW and its downstream unit acquiring a 280MW pipeline of US projects from Gestamp Solar.
But it failed to deliver on a promise to announce a decision on whether to build a 600MW module factory in the US.
Nonetheless, the company kicked off 2016 with a bang, as news emerged that it planned to deepen its ties with Goldman Sachs-backed developer Japan Renewable Energy.
