"Demand has remained robust in numerous sectors and regions, and there have also been positive price signals for key Wacker products, particularly for our polysilicon business," said CEO Rudolf Staudigl.
During the quarter Wacker Polysilicon, the group's renewable unit, generated sales of €252.4m, a 7% increase year-on-year.
However, it was 8% less than in the second quarter of 2014, when €273.2m was reported.
