On Wednesday Utah-based Vivint Solar listed on the New York Stock Exchange, following in the footsteps of larger rival SolarCity. Vivint Solar’s market capitalisation as of Friday morning was nearly $1.7bn, making it one of the most valuable US solar companies, as investors bet that the already-booming US residential rooftop PV market is just beginning to wake up.
