The US challenged the Indian government’s stipulation that solar power generators use India-manufactured cells and modules in order to participate in certain projects under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
The US first complained to the WTO in 2013 about India’s solar rules under the program.
The Obama administration claims that since India enacted the domestic content requirements in 2011, US solar exports there have plunged by more than 90%.
