The US added more than 31,000 solar-related jobs in the year to November 2014, lifting the total to nearly 174,000 – representing a growth rate more than 20 times that of the overall US economy.
Of those 31,000 jobs, 85% are completely new jobs, with the remainder comprising existing jobs that were modified to include solar responsibilities.
One out of every 78 new jobs created in the US last year came from the solar industry, according to the National Solar Jobs Census, put out annually since 2010 by The Solar Foundation.
