Kaiser Permanente – which has more than 600 offices and 38 hospitals in its vast medical universe – will buy 110MW of output from NextEra’s 485MW Blythe PV project under construction in southern California, and 43MW of wind power from a project that will be repowered in California’s Altamont Pass.

Blythe, in Riverside County, was originally slated to use CSP technology, but NextEra switched it to PV after acquiring the project from a unit of the bankrupt CSP developer Solar Millennium.
