This summer, the US Department of Commerce said it planned to impose new preliminary duties on solar products from China and Taiwan, following a decision in late 2012 to slap duties on Chinese-made crystalline silicon solar cells.
The US authorities also announced plans to classify solar modules from Chinese suppliers as being “Chinese” even if the cells within them are produced in another country.
