The CPP, whose application has been put on hold by the courts, would impose a 32% reduction in CO2 emissions from existing power plants by 2030.
An annotated summary of the report released Tuesday (full version to be published this summer) projects that renewables will increase their share of power generation from 13% in 2015 to 27% in 2040, or to 23% without the CPP.
