Update - Spanish solar sector slams 45% cut in PV tariffs

Spanish PV sector association Asif has slammed new regulations approved by the government on 19 November, which will reduce feed in tariffs for new ground based solar PV plants by 45%, for large rooftop installations by 25% and for small rooftop installations by 5%.

Asif says that the new decree will cut annual PV installations in Spain by half to 250MW, from their current level of 500MW.

“Asif condemns the new royal decree for solar PV energy which the council of ministers has approved today,” says the association in a statement, adding that the new regulations “were elaborated completely behind the back of the Spanish PV sector.”
