The move by SolarCity – which has hired more than 2,000 workers in Nevada over the past two years – raises the stakes in a regulatory battle that could have implications for other US solar markets in the future.
Acceding to a request by the state’s largest utility, NV Energy, Nevada’s Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on Monday announced its intention to bin key elements of the state’s existing net energy metering program – including for existing solar system owners.
