Lightsource – the UK’s largest solar generator – was part of a string of trade deals signed between the UK and India during a visit to London this week by Indian leader Narendra Modi.
The developer will work with infrastructure finance specialist SREI on the development programme, part of the Indian government’s ambition to hit 100GW of solar by 2022.
International developers including SunEdison, Enel Green Power, SoftBank, Sany and Statkraft have flocked to India in a bid to grab a slice of the action spurred by the solar target, and a 60GW wind power goal.
