In an interview with Recharge, Julie Elliott, shadow minister for energy and climate change, claims the current Conservative-led coalition government has “sought to suffocate” PV development through endless consultations, with energy minister Amber Rudd recently stating that solar farms are “not particularly welcome”.
“Solar PV already boast 5GW of capacity, enough power to supply the equivalent of 1.5 million homes,” she says.
