Germany’s Centrosolar, which finalised its purchase of Ubbink from Econcern in February 2009, says that axing all 70 of the jobs at the Doesburg site is “unavoidable”. Centrosolar says its primary module plant, which is located in Wismar, Germany, and boasts an annual production capacity of 110MW, will be unaffected by the closure.
Ecostream is the solar division of Utrecht-based Econcern, which in late May announced it had entered receivership after being unable to replace its existing financing facility due to the credit crisis.
