The panel manufacturer and project developer’s 550MW Desert Sunlight Solar Farm in Riverside County, California, was approved on Wednesday by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.
Last week, First Solar’s Agua Caliente Project, which it’s building for NRG Energy unit NRG Solar, reached financial closing on its $967m Department of Energy loan guarantee. NRG Energy subsequently completed its acquisition of the 290MW project, currently under construction in Yuma County, Arizona.
