Trina said its production activity in Malaysia involves co-operating with a local third-party OEM to develop 500MW of capacity, with shipments from that partner proceeding on schedule.
The Chinese group issued the statement following Malaysian media reports that the authorities had rejected plans for a Trina module plant, citing fears over anti-dumping repercussions from the EU and US.
Trina said it is on track to open a plant of its own in Thailand to add 500MW of module and 700MW of cell production capacity to its own global factory base.
