TerraForm has always had “Call Rights” on the UK projects, although the transfer is now planned for later this year – as opposed to in 2015, as originally scheduled.
The electricity generated by the plants will be sold via power-purchase agreements to Norway’s Statkraft.
The interconnection “consolidates SunEdison and TerraForm Power’s presence in the UK solar market and continues SunEdison’s steady expansion in the region”, the companies said.
