Swinerton Renewable Energy plans Mexican EPC push

Swinerton Renewable Energy (SRE), one of the largest solar EPC contractors in the US, is readying a major push into Mexico, following its clients into one of the world's hottest new markets for utility-scale PV.

"We'll be in Mexico in a large way," George Hershman, general manager at SRE, tells Recharge.

"We'll break ground on our first project there by the end of 2016, and we'll have significant resources in Mexico in 2017 and beyond."

Last week Mexico announced the winners of its first-ever renewables tender, with more than 2GW of utility-scale solar set to be built in the country by major international developers like Enel Green Power, SunPower, and Canadian Solar.
