Asia Silicon, which only began producing high-purity polysilicon in late 2008, has already signed a supply deal with Suntech worth $1.5bn over the next seven years.
Asia Silicon is currently building up capacity at its Qinghai plant, and has targeted an annual production level of 2,000 metric tonnes by mid-2009.
