In late 2012 SunPower announced a joint venture with three Chinese partners in Inner Mongolia, with the intention of building local factories for its C7 Tracker systems and deploying hundreds of megawatts of capacity.
“Things in China are going really, really well,” claims SunPower chief executive Tom Werner.
“What we’re seeing is the ability to get cost out of our [C7 Tracker] product is better than anticipated,” Werner says.
