The installation uses 500 modules supplied by Atlanta-based crystalline silicon manufacturer Suniva, and it is expected to turn out 150,000kWh of electricity each year -- reducing the building’s annual energy bill by about $10,500.
It is the second and largest PV system to be installed at the Quantico Marine base in northern Virginia, following a 20kW array installed two years ago atop a childcare centre.
