Oakland, California-based Sungevity – the third-largest installer of US residential rooftop solar systems, after SolarCity and Vivint Solar – says it is evaluating multiple office properties in downtown Kansas City, and expects to have a lease agreement in hand within a few weeks.
The selection of Missouri – only the 17th largest statewide market for PV installations last year – underscores the push by US solar companies into new geographies as costs drop and new markets become viable.
