Also Monday, SunEdison announced it has closed $146m in non-recourse debt financing for 81.7MW of PV capacity in Honduras, in what will be the largest renewables development to date in Central America.

SunEdison says it will spend more than $700m developing the Chile plants, adding them to the list of projects eligible for acquisition by TerraForm Power, its recently-launched yieldco.

The US company was the beneficiary of 15-year power purchase agreements awarded by Chile’s National Energy Commission under a revised bidding process in the country’s regulated power market.
